The Damned turn on Cambridge Xmas Lights
As reported in various places on the web, The Damned had the honour of turning on Cambridges Christmas lights in 2004. This was obviously not the Christian image that the church wish to have associated with the birth of the Saviour, so caused a bit of controversy. Still it made a change from Christopher Biggins, who usually does the honour.
Captain Sensible came on saying - 'Hello - we are the Damned and contrary to media reportswe *ARE* here to spread peace and goodwill to all men. But that doesn't mean we will be playing Happy Talk this evening'.
SO I went to see it with Steve, Stella, Kev and Yvette. It was a nice day out. And lets face it - Christmas is not about Jesus OR any rock band - its about SANTA!!!!
